It has begun

So, you saw the last posting, with a virtual tour through our stripped house.
Thought there wasn't much left to demolish? Wrong!
Meet Jos the bouwerand Jasper, doing some serious damage to the old extension and the old foundation
And then today, there came a big ole' truckbearing cement mixer, cement, and 6 big poststhere they go
And today they hammered those posts into the ground. Céline and I are standing at the future glass doors, bordering the future kitchen. Far out eh!

While stripping the house, an old doorway reappeared, right where we will have one in the 'new' house!

in the old days, that brick wall was the outside wall!the old pantry (bij-keuken), and more former outside wall.
the old entrance into the kitchen, will be a cupboard in the futureinside the kitchenmoving on upfront side of house (former bedroom & walk in closet)back side of house former bedroom and bathroom!
see, there's the bathroom:into the porchroom
nicely strippedright up to the ceiling!
virtual tour of the whole thing...

Not much left to see here eh, Zig?

Approved

Our building plans have approved by the municipal council. Yeay!
The local paper always publishes such news, so people know what's going on. This is what it said our plans were: Translation: "partially changing a haystack into a closed stall".
Yes, that's really what it said.

One buyeth an old house. Next: one strippeth the place!
Farewell, brown kitchen!
We start upstairs... The walls are looking better already.
And out comes the lovely wallpaper, 70s style.

Whaddya think, shall we leave it?
We now have one nice, big room.
Here's what's left of the ceiling:

Nr. 5: here come the Weber-Fergusons

On Monday we got the keys for our new house! And lucky for us, the weather was nice, so off we trooped to enjoy our new garden. While Ziggy napped under a tree and Emile ran laps up and down the garden path, we just satand relaxed
Hope to be doing this plenty over the next few months.

In the meantime, there is a LOT!!!!!! of work to be done before we are even remotely near to calling this our new home. Watch this space!
